Our Space Racing “Kids Rule” race was held last Saturday on the Strathfieldsaye Linear Park map. We saw lots of parents and dogs and Space Racers (and a big cousin!) out on the course. It was a lovely crisp morning with gentle sunshine. Everyone got back without any problems and all seemed to enjoy them selves, having experienced how the kids sort out their navigation.
We are now on the run down to the end of this Series of races, with only one more to go before the final. The top three teams are within 250 points of each other and any of them could win, given that a team can earn up to eight hundred points in a single race. It could well be that the winning team will actually be decided on these two races so everyone should try and take part.
The final race will be run in an easy piece of forest at Sedgwick and the presentations will take place after this event. The winning team will take possession of the trophy for the year, and each team member will receive a personal medallion; a Certificate of Achievement will be presented to every competitor. The presentations will be accompanied by a sausage sizzle and other refreshments so it promises to be great wind up to what has been a interesting series of races.

The next Space Race is at Spring Gully South, the same area that was used for the Schools Champs
From the centre of Bendigo, travel up Mitchell St, over the Railway line to the Cemetery, take Spring Gully Road. Race start is at the Spring Gully Tennis Courts, which is opposite Autumn Gully Rd
